Scribing and cleaving is an efficient method for preparing microscopy samples of any hard, brittle material. From single crystals, electronics, ceramics, photonic structures, to preparing glass substrates and sacrificial silicon for TEM sample preparation as is required daily in many labs. While commonly used, scribing and cleaving methods can be difficult to master. The goal of this vendor tutorial is demonstrate and examine the results or several methods that make cleaving simpler, faster, more efficient, more precise, and more predictable.
