Dr. Michal Horák finished his PhD at CEITEC Brno University of Technology in Brno, Czech Republic in January 2020 by defending his doctoral thesis "Electron microscopy and spectroscopy in plasmonics". Currently, he is working as electron microscopy specialist at plasmonics research group at CEITEC BUT. Beyond plasmonics, he is active in the field of charged particle optics where he developed an accurate 3D interpolation method and calculated the deflecting properties of a charged particle diverter for the ATHENA mission, in low energy EELS of semiconductors, high resolution analytical transmission electron microscopy of graphene quantum dots and MXenes, cathodoluminescence of semiconductors, and focused ion beam fabrication of holographic masks for electron vortex beam generation.
