Dr. Duan has been supporting the preservation research for NARA’s holdings since 2012, mainly in the area of light stability and fading risks of cultural heritage materials. He is also representing NARA in a technical committee, TC42, of ISO standard organization. Before joining NATA, he had been a senior research scientist in Fujifilm’s R&D department on imaging materials for 18 years.
Dr. Duan received his Ph. D. from the Johns Hopkins University for his research in light-switching materials based on organic semiconductors.
