For 15+ years, Dr. Christopher R. Field has been creating scientific software and hardware in academic, government, and industrial environments. While his formal education includes a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Computer Science from Drake University, Dr. C.R. Field has experience in digital and analog electronics, mechanical and chemical engineering, technology commercialization, and entrepreneurship. Research interests over the years have focused on developing new methods and technologies for real-time detection and measurement of unique chemical compounds for defense applications, live cell imaging for vaccine manufacturing, and feature detection in electron microscopy workflows. Other interests have included integrated hardware-software solutions for harsh environments including robotics for deployment in nuclear power reactors.
