Dr. Jisoo Kimis a Senior Researcher at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), where he has been contributing since August 2022. Dr. Jisoo Kim completed his PhD at ETH Zürich, working at the X-ray tomography group on the Tomographic Microscopy and Coherent Radiology Experiments (TOMCAT) beamline at the Swiss Light Source (SLS), Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI). During his doctoral studies, he developed rapid X-ray scattering tensor tomography methods, significantly enhancing data acquisition and reconstruction speeds for mapping anisotropic microstructures on a centimeter scale. This work utilized diffractive optical elements to capture anisotropic small-angle scattering signals more efficiently than established methods. Dr. Jisoo Kim has also held positions as a Visiting Scientist at Xnovo Technology in Denmark, where he contributed to lab-based X-ray scattering tensor tomography development, and as a Visiting PhD student at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in the Netherlands, focusing on improving tensor tomography reconstruction algorithms. During Master's degree program, he worked with the ETH Zürich team in the CMS group at CERN, developing a Compton scattering recovery algorithm for PET and conducting Monte-Carlo simulations on Cherenkov radiation for high-performance PET detectors. Additionally, he focused on sensor characterization for silicon photomultipliers (SiPM) in the Radiation Detection and Medical Image Sensor Laboratory at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
