Research Council Officer
National Research Council Canada - Nanotechnology Research Centre, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Canada
Jae-Young Cho received his PhD in Materials Engineering from the McGill University (2005). During his Ph.D. at McGill, he studied the effects of microstructure and texture on the reliability of nano-scaled copper damascene interconnects. Right after receiving his Ph.D., he joined National Research Council Canada - Nanotechnology Research Centre (NRC-NANO) in 2005 and his main role was to develop new soft nanomaterials characterization methods using cutting-edge microscopic/spectroscopic techniques. While at NRC-NANO, he has been involved in many different collaborative research projects with universities, companies and different parts of NRCs. His current works focus on the developing in-situ characterization methods for nanomaterials, particularly in the areas of soft nanomaterials and he is leading cryo-EM subgroup at NRC-NANO. He has published over 60 articles in peer reviewed journals, conference proceedings and technical reports.
