Nicholas has been a physicist with the National Institute of Standards and Technology for 20 years. Automated particle analysis pays the bills but he is also interested in quantitative EDS and spectrum simulation. Before NIST he worked for an instrument vendor designing and developing instrumentation software. He claims to have completed a Ph.D. in Experimental Atomic Physics at Rice University.
