Postdoctoral scholar
University of California, Irvine
Irvine, CA, United States
Dr. Wenjie Zang serves as a postdoctoral scholar within Professor Xiaoqing Pan’s research group at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), specializing in Materials Science and Engineering. She earned her Ph.D. under the guidance of Professor Stephen J. Pennycook and Professor John Wang at the National University of Singapore in 2021. Dr. Zang's research is centered on the development of multi-dimensional metal-based catalysts and their application in heterogeneous catalysis, targeting challenges in energy conversion, storage, and pollution control. Utilizing atomic-resolution electron microscopy and spectroscopy, she delves into both electronic and structural dynamics of catalysts under realistic operational conditions. Her scholarly contributions include 18 publications as first or co-first author in esteemed journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, and Advanced Materials. Later this year, Wenjie will commence her role as an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rochester.
