Dr. Xiuzhen Yu received her Ph.D. in 2008 from Tohoku University (Japan) and carried out her postdoctoral research at the Advanced Nano Characterization Center of NIMS (National Institute of Materials Science). She came to RIKEN in 2011 and is leading an Electronic States Microscopy Research Team in RIKEN CEMS. Dr. Yu is interested in the real-space imaging of various topological spin textures and their dynamics using advanced microscopies. Dr. Yu advances the imaging of nanometric magnetic skyrmions for the first time in the world, and awarded by the MEXT-Japan (the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-Japan), JEM (Japan Electron Microscopy) society, Nature Nanotechnology award, etc.
