Peter has been training electron microprobe users on a consulting basis for JEOL USA, Inc. for the past 24 years, and has taught users in both North and South America. He also taught electron microprobe classes at the University of Minnesota for eight years, as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. Before joining the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Minnesota, Peter was with the Minnesota Geological Survey. As a user of electron microprobe instruments for over 35 years, he has seen the instrumentation evolve greatly and has been involved in analyzing wide varieties of materials. Presently he runs his own contract analytical laboratory at McSwiggen & Associates.
